About Sintaluta, Sask
The Town of Sintaluta, SK is a small farming community located approximately 1 hour East of Regina, SK on the Trans Canada Highway (HWY 1) and approximately 10 minutes east from the Town of Indian Head. Sintaluta was first established in 1881 and was one of the largest grain shipping points of that era. The town’s name comes from a Lakota language word that has the meaning of “tail of the red fox”.
Today Sintaluta is a bedroom community that offers a very affordable real estate market and a slower paced lifestyle that is typical of small town living. Farming remains a large part of the local economy.

“The small community of Sintaluta is located 16 km southeast of Indian Head along the Trans-Canada Highway. The community’s name is derived from a Lakota Sioux term referring to a fox tail, which in turn refers to the nearby headwaters of the Redfox Creek which flows north to the Qu’Appelle River. During the early to mid 1900s, the bustling community was a well-established service centre for the surrounding farming area.” – Sintaluta, Tourism Saskatchewan
