Current SaskEnergy Rebate and Incentive Programs for Furnaces and Heating Equipment
The provincial natural gas utility provider here is Saskatchewan, SaskEnergy, maintains different furnace rebate and incentive programs to help homeowners and property owners upgrade their furnaces and heating equipment to new high-efficient models. Replacing old equipment with newer high-efficient models helps to promote lower energy use and saves property owners money. Below is some information sourced from the SaskEnergy website on their current programs:
SaskEnergy Rebate for Residential Equipment:
- Program dates: November 2, 2020 to March 31, 2021.
- Get a $325 to $650 rebate when you replace an existing natural gas furnace with a qualifying high-efficiency natural gas furnace.
- Get a $10 per MBH rebate (up to a $2,000 maximum) when you replace an existing boiler with a qualifying high-efficient boiler.
- Get a $5 per MBH rebate (up to a $1,000 maximum) when you replace an existing combi boiler with a qualifying high-efficient combi boiler.
- Get a $100 rebate when you install a certified ENERGY STAR® Heat Recovery Ventilator.
- Get a $250 to $1,000 rebate when you replace an existing natural gas water heater with a qualifying ENERGY STAR® certified water heater.
- Program available through participating SaskEnergy Network Members only.
- Must be a SaskEnergy Residential Customer
- Property is located in Saskatchewan.

SaskEnergy Rebate for Commercial Space and Water Heating Equipment:
- Program dates: December 1, 2019 to November 30, 2021.
- Examples of eligible buildings: retail stores, apartment complexes, strip malls, dental clinics, restaurants, municipal buildings, community halls, building owned or operated by non-profit organizations, barns, mechanical shops, non-residential farm buildings
- Get a $325 to $650 rebate when you replace an existing natural gas furnace with a qualifying high-efficiency natural gas furnace.
- Get a $10 per MBH rebate when you replace an existing boiler or install a new qualifying high-efficient boiler.
- Get a $5 per MBH rebate when you replace an existing water heater with a Energy STAR® certified condensing water heater.
- Get a $5 per MBH rebate when you replace an existing water heater or install a new Energy STAR® certified tankless water heater.
- Get a $600 to $1,200 rebate when you replace an existing natural gas infrared tube heater or install a new qualifying infrared tube heater.
- Program available through participating SaskEnergy Network Members only.
- Must be a SaskEnergy Commercial Customer
- Property is located in Saskatchewan.

SaskEnergy Rebate for Commercial Boilers:
- Program dates: December 1, 2019 to November 30, 2021.
- Examples of eligible buildings: apartment or condo complexes, multi-plex facilities, ice arenas, hotels, office buildings, repair shops, warehouses, shopping malls
- Boiler plants (made of one or more boilers) must be over 400 MBH
- Get a $10 per MBH rebate for the first 600 MBH on when you replace an existing boiler or install a new qualifying high-efficient boiler.
- Get a $3 per MBH rebate above the first 600 MBH when you replace an existing boiler or install a new qualifying high-efficient boiler.
- Program available through participating SaskEnergy Network Members only.
- Must be a SaskEnergy Commercial Customer
- Property is located in Saskatchewan.
